Why did you become a Nail Artist?
I have always enjoyed painting my nails and people have complimented me on them. A few months ago my Management position was disestablished and I was looking for a new position. A friend had liked Monaco Nail Academy on Facebook. I thought ‘I wonder if I could do that?’ I popped online and then a little popup box appeared saying there was someone there if I had any questions.... due to the enthusiasm of the Staff at Monaco Nail Academy I signed up that afternoon.

What’s your absolute favourite Nail Service to provide?
Gel Polish and Nail Art. For me it is all about transformation; from tired nails on busy hands to a beautiful medium of art. Seeing people so happy and feel so much better because their nails are stunning.

What makes you different to everyone else?
I have caught the immense passion from the Monaco Staff and am very very very passionate about nails. I love to see how happy people are when they have had their nails done. I focus on hygiene and quality as word of mouth is my primary advertising, therefore it must be impeccable.

What do you think is a higher priority – price, quality or hygiene?
Hygiene is the highest priority for me, everyone needs to be safe and well, and this of course goes hand in hand with quality to provide the best possible service.

Who is your biggest influence in the industry?
Penny from Monaco. She has the most amazing abilities, passion, knowledge, ability to teach, understanding and her nails are spectacular.

Which is your favourite Nail Art look to do?
Pigments, sparkles, a little bling, flowers and designs. Oh dear - I cannot choose! I love it all.

How would you describe your salon?
My salon is in my home, it has a very relaxing caring and professional atmosphere with a nice view. It is tidy, well organised and welcoming.

If your business/salon was a city, which city would it be?
Auckland. Local, diverse, fun, busy, exciting, excellent.

If your business/salon was a song or a band, which would it be?
It’s a Beautiful Day - U2. It's a beautiful day because I am fortunate to be doing something I love, I have my own little salon, I have lovely customers, I have the best support ever and I can help to make someone's day.

Puppies or Kittens?
Puppies

Waffles or Pancakes?

Why would you recommend training with Monaco?
Right from the minute I met the wonderful staff at Monaco - Penny, Jasmine, Alisha and Rachel - they welcomed me like I was a long lost friend. Their excitement for me swept away my nervousness and self doubt at learning something so totally new and different for me. There is always a feeling: that nothing is too much for them to do for you, that they are always there to support you no matter what, that they want you to succeed, and that they share not only their infinite wisdom but part of themselves. They are total professionals whose vast knowledge is impressive and you are swept into their family and cradled with confidence, support and expert learning. Monaco Nail Academy is the best training provider I have experienced.
