    3. I was definitely surprised I got the blood spill drill from memory

    1. Where to come and brush on the bits of info that inevitably won’t stick…
    2. That dipping isn’t as new as it sometimes seems from client anecdotes/word of mouth

    1. practice, practice, practice
    2. have my notes beside me so I can test myself
    3. I can’t think of a 3rd thing from this particular section

    1. how long dipping has been around (I had only heard of it in the last 3 years)
    2. how easy it is to work out the pricing with the calculator
    3. that I remembered the right order for the steps in the blood spill drill

    1. Blood Spill Drill – I think it’s ingrained in my memory now
    2. how to calculate costs
    3. which clients dipping is more suitable for

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this module?
    1. practice, practice, practice! you will find your own process that works for you, even if it means having your steps written beside you so you can start to remember it all off by heart. I use it as a reference to double check my next step after going over it in my head.

    3. The history! Was super interesting to hear it wasn’t a new “fad”

    1. The history! who knew it was around back then!
    2. That tips with dipping isn’t the best option.
    3. That the businesses that promote so called ‘organic’ and ‘healthy’ was pretty much a fake promotion!

    2. The knowledge of dipping, so i can be prepared for clients opinions.
    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this module?
    1. Keep the knowledge of dipping powder in your head so that you can explain pros and cons to uncertain clients. And to listen carefully to your client to understand if dipping is suitable to them 🙂

    1.That as long as you follow the correct procedures sanitising cleansing etc dipping is not unhygienic

    2.I was surprised at how long this service has been around

    3.The pricing calculator … was good to see this broken down

    1.This should be priced between hard gel and acrylic if you are unsure about pricing. Gives you a good medium to work from

    2.That this is a service good for clients on their own natural nails without tips

    1.The fun is starting girls and boys… Pay attention Penny is amazing to learn from and you wont get better!

    1. Recommended kit list, already bought this at start of the whole thing so im ready to go.

    3. hygiene, i was interested to know regarding sticking fingers into a pot, now i know providing all the hygiene steps are followed zero problem

    1. havent started the dip yet, so everything i guess

    1. thats its been around since the 80s. i dont remember it from then, obviously wasnt super popular where i lived

    2. that you can use tips, may need to do a quick course somehow on this, just to make sure im doing it perfect no reason to learn bad habits from the start

    1. this is great for natural nails where strength is needed

    2. that it could be an option with tips for those that dont like acrylic when i get there.

    1. Never skimp on good hygiene and sanitisation practices
    2. Although there is nothing wrong with doing dip over tip extensions, there are better options
    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
    1. Take lots of notes…every piece of information is valuable. I have found myself going back to previous sets of information because in the moment I thought “hmm that is something I won’t forget” and because there is so much to take in…well sometimes it slips and having notes to quickly go back to is amazing.

    3. Buying the kit before starting so I had everything to start with.

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. Dipping practice – that will come.
    2. Setting solid pricing on my price list.
    3. Tip extensions – if I am going to.

    1. Dipping has been around since early 1980’s
    2. There is no cross contamination using the same powder – as long as you are sanitizing etc correctly.
    3. That I wasn’t wanting to offer dip but I am actually really excited to offer it now. I thought it was so bad for your nails but still lots of learning left.

    What are three things you will never forget?
    1. The cost per service calculator
    2. That the pricing for profit course is always there should I need it.
    3. How to deal with a blood spill.

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this module?
    1. If this is want you want to do – then give it your all. I’m not really a theory gal so the first module got a little bit too much for me but the deeper I get into the foundation certificate the more excited I am.

    1. The history info- I had no idea dip was popular in the 80s!

    2. The hygiene aspect; I figured it was fine as the powder was perhaps a “hostile environment” for bacteria but there’s a lot of “info” online that suggests otherwise, it’s good to be armed with real info

    1. Again the hygiene aspect; holding onto that forever Incase anyone asks

    1. Enjoy! This is a natural progression from manicures and pedicures and easy to understand if taken shortly after your theory so the chemistry is fresh in your mind!
