14 Nov 2020What are three things you’ve absolutely nailed in this Module?
1. Nail prep – really taking the time to remove excess cuticles, and not rushing to risk damaging the skin around the nail plate.
2. Using scrub to exfoliate and remove dead skin – this particular step i think i love the most as after the Dadi Scrub both the clients feet, and my hands felt so soft and healthy! And the client loved this step too, a bit more of a vigorous massage, but in a satisfying way
3.
What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
1. Filing the free edge of the smaller toe nails – it can be awkward and i want to make sure i am holding the client’s foot comfortably, but also avoiding the skin with the file, but removing any excess length at the same time
2. Feeling confident with the massage – the more i am confident and therefore take my time, the more the client will enjoy
3. Capping the free edge without getting gel on the skin – can be pretty tricky on those small toe nails!
What are three things that really surprised you?
1. I thought i would get more satisfaction out of doing the service than i did (have to be honest, dont really enjoy doing pedicures 😀 )
2. Applying gel polish to the smaller nails is quite tricky – getting the right amount of product on the brush is super important. too much = runs into cuticles, but too little and you might get an uneven coverage
3. Pedicures can be more tricky and take longer to do (in terms of prep) and it is very important to set prices accordingly
What are three things you will never forget?
1. Client comfortability is really important, though its important to look after your own comfort too! Need to be careful you arent bending over the clients foot too much
2. Its very very important to do your absolute best to not damage the skin of the feet in any way – and this is why we dont do wet pedicures
3. Positioning of the feet can be very helpful to stop the gel running into and flooding the cuticles
What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
1. Some people may enjoy giving pedicures and some may not, but clients loooove it. Its important to learn about even if you dont think you will offer it as a service, because its likely one day you might.
Penny
