6 Jul 2020What are three things you’ve absolutely nailed in this Module?
1. Not completely messing up hard gel! Woo! I was so intimidated by it, but actually found it so cool to work with!
2. I’ve broaden my horizons with services to offer in a salon now that I know hard gel isn’t as horrendous to work with as I thought!
3. I have learnt more about structure in using hard gel and Have come to realise my c curves need more work still! But I’m excited to work on getting them perfect!
What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
1. C curves!!
2. No filing out the lower arches that I try so hard to get in!
3. Not filing out my apex…. (I see a pattern ????)
What are three things that really surprised you?
1. How easy I found hard gel when I assumed it would be a nightmare being so sticky!
2. How hard it would be to see when extending using a form! Took a few nails to get used to
3. How quick application was! I had assumed that it would take me a very long time
What are three things you will never forget?
1. Don’t over file!
2. Pinch c curves in! It’s easier to remember after you flash cure
3.Practice makes perfect and the more I work on c curves the better they’ll get (I hope…)
What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
1. Hard gel really isn’t as scary as you might think! Just dive right in and have a go! It’s actually really fun once you get into the swing of it! A definite fave!
Penny
7 Jul 2020It’s so fun, right!!

8 Oct 2020What are three things you’ve absolutely nailed in this Module?
1. The thickness of the hard gel
2. My filing technique which I’ve practiced lots since acrylic!
3. My cuticle application. I found with floating the hard gel on, the cuticle area gets a really nice even finish
What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
1. Getting a good C Curve
2. Getting the application right in one go. Some nails I had to go back in and touch up with a bit more hard gel
3. Get the product slightly closer to my side walls.
What are three things that really surprised you?
1. It sets really fast, so I need to work faster with hard gel than with acrylic
2. Its harder than acrylic. I love doing acrylic but hard gel I just found so much harder!
3. Its super easy to file!
What are three things you will never forget?
1. Flash cure then try and pinch your C Curve
2. It can heat spike very easily
3. Be patient, hard gel is a complicated technique which can’t be mastered after one lesson
What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
1. Don’t be as hard on yourself as I am! Its never going to be perfect on your first attempt but keep practicing!
Penny
9 Oct 2020Oh wow! I thought Hard gel was way harder than Acrylic, funny how we’re all so different!

What are three things that really surprised you?
1. The ease of doing them

8 Feb 2021What are three things you’ve absolutely nailed in this Module?
1. The things I learned in the acrylic module served me well with hard gel especially with regard to structure

2. That picking up bubble-free beads is not as easy as it looks
3. How lovely and shiny clear hard gel is
What are three things you will never forget?
1. Chasing the gel all around the form :/
2. How smooth filing seems compared to acrylic
3. How strong the structure of the nail feels when it’s complete
What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
1. Be patient but confident with your hard gel, I feel like it can sense weakness 😛
Penny
