    What are three things that really surprised you?

    1. No inhibition layers with dip

    2. That you can’t use a gel top coat (not recommended as will peel with dip.

    3. That dip powder is different to acrylic powder.

    What are three things you will never forget?

    1. To clean the top of the bottles so they don’t glue shut

    2. To use the brush restorer for 10min

    3. To wipe brush on dry nail wipe before putting it back in base coat.

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1. Very informative information that is definitely needed to understand dipping.

    What are three things you’ve absolutely nailed in this Module?

    1. The concept of how the solid product is formed through the particular combination of products on the nail
    2. How essential brush restorer is likely to be for me…
    3. I can’t think of a third specifically from this section!

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. It would be good to feel like I had an inherent understanding of the correct order and steps as I do with liquid gel polish, but that will come with practice
    2. Being able to answer specific questions about the system
    3. Knowing every time in what scenarios it might be worth recommending dip

    What are three things that really surprised you?
    1. I had forgotten that dip doesn’t use a lamp
    2. That activator is necessary after dipping in powder, brushing on to powder for some reason was a surprise to me
    3. How this system came into being

    What are three things you will never forget?
    1. To wipe the base coat brush very carefully on the inside of the bottle not near the rim to avoid gluing it shut
    2. That in some ways, this product is like super glue!
    3. That moisture in the air starts the “curing” process

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
    1. If you’re anything like me as a newbie you’ll be doing this one twice!!

  3. What are three things you’ve absolutely nailed in this Module?

    1. the order of the products used
    2. why activator is so important
    3. not letting my bottles of product seal themselves closed. I’ll never get them open otherwise

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. memorising the times that activator, top coat etc needs to sit for before being able to do the next step
    2. brushing as much of the excess powder off the nail before doing the next step – it’s ok to brush the powder
    3. being able to have a complete understanding of the system to allow me to answer all questions

    What are three things that really surprised you?
    1. you don’t cleanse the nail after putting the final layer of top coat on! it’s so ingrained from the manicures module
    2. how much you can brush the nail without removing any of the actual powder coat, only the excess!! It’s so crazy!!
    3. dipping is literally like super glue

    What are three things you will never forget?

    1. DO NOT cleanse the final top coat layer
    2. brush restorer can save your brushes, they don’t always have to be thrown away
    3. wiping the brush on the inside of the rim instead of the top like gel polish

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1. pay close attention to the “wait” times for each product. it’s not always 10 seconds or 1 minute. Wipe your brushes on the inside rim of the bottle or you will glue them shut! this product is like super glue so do you best to not get any in contact with skin

    1. Ensuring bottles are clean and tidy before sealing
    2. Maintaining no less than 20cm when applying to ensure the moisture in your eyes doesnt cure airbonne particles to cure in your eyes!
    3. Concept of the steps for application

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. pronounceations of word like Di-methyl-tolyl-a-mine
    2. remembering its ok to bruish off excess powder
    3. remembering that the more curing time is required between first and seconf top coat

    What are three things that really surprised you?
    1. any friction or moisture can cause shock curing – i noticed even if applying a second top coat too soon this happens
    2. the product cures in your eyes!
    3. It can set of breathing issues for me, using less product on each application helps with this

    What are three things you will never forget?
    1. patience will avoid shock-curing!
    2. PPE and ergonomics – particularly for the health of the eyes
    3. steps in which the products are used

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
    1. avoid spilling the base product or getting it onto your skin – its essentially like putting concrete glue on your fingers!

    1. Understanding each product
    2. Knowing the Order of which to use those products
    3. The safety precautions of using the products, ie: 20cms away from the nail.
    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. Activating time
    2. Not to get close to the side walls and eponychium
    3. Even applications. Just application in general
    What are three things that really surprised you?
    1. Products in your eyes!
    2. That you should always use the correct base, activator and top coat, that is specific for dipping powder.
    3. That gel top coat can cause peeling
    What are three things you will never forget?
    1. Product order
    2. Wiping excess powder
    3. Buffing to get a nice finish
    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
    1. Follow guidelines, apply with patience 🙂

    2. Needing two coats of top coat, or can buff to high shine?

    1. Practice remembering the order everything goes in, otherwise you’ll waste bottles of product

      Ohhhh no! Hopefully gluing the lid on is a lesson you only need to learn once, I did it TWICE in 1 week when I started! *face palm*

    1.Understanding what the Activator is

    2.That if you are infilling make sure you do a layer of clear so to stop the staining

    3.14 days is what you should be advising a client to have a dip on

    1.Everything when it comes to application as i have never done this

    2.Not gluing my lids on!

    1.Don’t sit too close when applying base coat .. 20cm, you don’t want to be sniffing it up ha

    2.Brush restorer ..I had never heard of this.. such a newbie 🙂

    1.Sit up straight when applying base coat can sting eyes

    2.If you aren’t soaking off every time it can stain your nails

    3.You don’t have to soak off every time.. I thought you would

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1.Take notes …. I have books and books of notes and have utterly surprised myself at how many times i go back to them.

    1. That the dip system is a two weekly service,

    2. To sit straight up and not bunched over otherwise my eyes will feel it (stingy)

    3. brush restorer will be my friend

    1. not sure yet havent actually picked up the product yet

    1. that you can buff to a high shine

    2. that having two bottles will be better than one for me haha especially in the beginning

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1. as usual practice practice practice, and like everything else it takes time to master a new skill

    1. You need Patience

    2. Not to glue shut the bottles

    3. Brush off excess

    1. After watching the videos in other chapters, come back and watch these videos again.

    2. Remember to sit up straight, for the sake of my eyes now.

    What are three things that really surprised you?

    1. You can use traditional top coat, but not gel top coat.

    2. You can’t wipe off the brush on the top of the rim of the bottle, as it will shut the lids.

    3. Top coat twice.

    What are three things you will never forget?

    1. To wipe the brush on the inside of the rim not at the top of the rim.

    2. Eyes will sting, 20 cm away from the nail you are working on

    3. Do not interchange the base coats even if they have same ingredients

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    Go to even more quieter place when going through this chapter

    1. Being careful with how I use base coat as not to glue the pot shut

    1. That dip can cure without an LED lamp

    1. Base coat reacts to moisture in the eyes if your too close

    2. How the top coat works, since I thought it would be a gel top coat for some reason, lol

    3. Base coat is runny as it has Ethyl Cynoacrylate in it
