    1. Understanding how to ensure top coat (if used) is shiny

    2. Understanding how to use gel over dip – eg to add colour or art

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. Practicing the system

    1. How much the top coat was affected by client moving in the 1 minute “hold still” period

    What are three things you will never forget?

    1. That dip can be tricky!

    2. 100 grit buffing is essential to get gel adhering to dip

    3. That if a top coat is being used for shine, those hands have to be STILL for the 1 and 4 minute wait times.

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1. If it doesn’t make sense, rewrite the steps for yourself in your own words as you watch the video. Taking notes of my observations helped the process to solidify in my mind.

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. The apex layer. I feel like it’s really noticeable and feel like I have to work more to make it blend in

    2. I also tried the one strip down the centre of a nail. I think maybe it’s the blending of these layers

    What are three things that really surprised you?

    1. Ombré and marble nails!

    2. I heard that it wasn’t good to use a gel coat over dip – this made me so happy as I loved the glitter tips and love the super glossy ness of a gel top coat

    3. I was really suprised I cured my top coat – now I’m thinking what an idiot!

    What are three things you will never forget?

    1. Dry wipe after activator and wait Atleast 20 seconds – also not too much activator!

    2. How hot the exxothermoc reaction can get. I used top coat and I as my nails were drying a reflexes to get something that dropped and the reaction was so painful 😖

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1. Really take your time. Dip is not something you want to rush – as penny says – FAST things fast

    1. How many steps there are

    2. That you can buff to a high shine and not have to top coat

    3. Dip removal is quite quick if you file through a bit first

      The most steps of anything ever hahaha and yet after you memorise them they don’t seem so bad

    1.How to buff to a high shine

    2.Getting the order of the dip process!

    3.My removal.. Definately file off then wait your 20 mins without peeking

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1.Application of dip.. I am getting much better but practice makes perfect

    2.Not too much activator!!!

    3.Getting my speed up

    1.The absolute must for no moving with top coat

    2.That you can get nearly as good high shine from buffing

    3.I was very stoked to find out you could put gel polish over dip

    1.Activator and not too much

    2.Thin application

    3.Donot get dip on the skin.. soak off immediately

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1.If you are this far along you should be loving this as much as me.. keep practicing

      Oh that advice at the end is so cute, love it! I love buffing to high shine, just as good as top coat and less soak off next time!

    1. ensure to stay still after top coat for shiny finish.

    2. Thin application. ( not to flood the product on skin)

    3. Buff properly for a smooth finish

    What are three things you really need to continue to work on?
    1. Still need to practice to keep getting better each time

    2. Need to buy few brushes so I can keep playing with dip.

    3. How to buff to high shine. (Haven’t tried yet)

    What are three things that really surprised you?

    1. You can use gel over dip

    2. You can buff to high shine instead of using top coat

    3. How moving you hand within (1min and 4 mins top coat )waiting times makes a difference.

    What are three things you will never forget?

    1. Not to glue shut the bottles

    2. Filling down the whole nail plate not just the middle part like gel before soaking to make soaking off easier

    3. Keep cheat sheet handy to make sure you are not skipping any steps.

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?

    1. I honestly always thought that a dip manicure was done with acrylic powder. Dip powder and acrylic powder might look the same but they behave differently.
    2. Dipping does not cause staining like gel polish/trad polish does
    3. You can add strength if someone has brittle nails to ensure your application lasts

    What are three things you will never forget?
    1. Top coat is like a thicker super glue so it’s important to keep hands still when it is applied
    2. How durable dipping is
    3. You can do a “nude” dip application on men who are very rough with their hands

    What advice would you give to a newbie starting this Module?
    1. You’re going to have so much fun experimenting with dip and the endless possibilities. Just make sure you work on getting your application right to ensure your master piece lasts!

    1. In the beginning I thought that I would prefer using top coat over high shine buffing but after a few sets it is the complete opposite
